- Dosage
- Usual Dosage- Thiavit SG Capsule is consumed once per day usually after meals. The tablet needs to be swallowed with water and not broken down or chewed. For best results.
- Missed Dosage- In case a dose is skipped, the medicine should be taken promptly after recalling. But it is not advisable to overlap the missed dose with the next schedule dose.
- Interactions: Simultaneous administration of certain drugs might alter their actions. Corticosteroids- These are immunosuppressants and should not be taken with Thiavit since the latter is used to strengthen immunity.
- Ciprofloxacin- The minerals constituting Thiavit Capsule such as magnesium, calcium, copper and zinc bind to this drug reducing its absorption.
- Levothyroxine- The zinc and selenium present in Zincovit converts thyroid hormone T4 to T3 and thus the medicine cannot be taken alongside levothyroxine.
- Antacids- Antacids containing calcium might reduce the effect of the multivitamins present in Thiavit .
- Alendronate- The action of this bisphosphonate used to prevent osteoporosis is reversed when administered along with Thiavit .
